can I suggest rosey barbs, I was toold by the "fish nerds" at my store that they use them to control their hair algae.
if the rosey barbs don't work, I'd suggest adding birch bark to your filter (what are you running?). The natural chemicals in the powdery surface of the birchbark should kickstart your flda-flags into action. I was told this by my local "fish nerds" at "Clifton's Aquarium Services" in Regina (definitely worth a closer look!!!) and my fish were hungry and eating in less than two weeks.
Good Luck!

I'm running a 30Gallon AquaClear with Peat-Moss & some beige colour substrate(forget what kind).
I started using the Peat to bring down the pH in my tank, Toronto water is fairly hard.
Thanks for the tip on the bark! I'll give it a try.
